She was born October 30, 1938 in Clauene, TX to William Maston, Jr. and Louise Allene (Cooksey) Bailey. Shirley started first grade in Levelland, TX where she met her lifelong friend, Jo Hellen Harrell. Shirley graduated from Levelland High School in 1957. She married Clifford Doyle Jeffcoat, and they had children Mark Jeffcoat (Melanie) of Charleston, SC, Traci Burnett (Danny) of Sundown, TX, and Drew Jeffcoat of Mesquite, TX. Cliff preceded her in death in 1993, and she married Pat Albers of Garden City, KS in 1995. Pat passed away in 2006, and Shirley moved to Lubbock, TX. She married Max Parker in 2008. Max passed away in 2012. Shirley was a teacher and educator for 28 years, and enjoyed competing across the state with her high school choirs. She touched countless young lives in schools across Texas and Kansas. She loved to travel, visiting family often and touring the country with senior group friends. She was an avid seamstress, from early days of getting together with her sister and sister-in-law to make cloths for their kids to volunteering to sew for Little Dresses for Africa and Heart Pillows for heart patients in Lubbock hospitals. She loved to play games, including cards, dominoes and Bunco, and made many good friends along the way. Shirley was a Lake Ridge Lady, Levelland Lunch Bunch member, and she loved being a member of the LakeRidge Methodist Church choir. Her parents and her brothers Kenneth Reginald Bailey and William Wayne Bailey preceded Shirley in death. Survivors include her children, grandchildren Chad Burnett, Jamie Lynn (Curtis), Bryce Jeffcoat (Jona), Rebecca Gerhardt (Dane), Joseph Jeffcoat, and James Jeffcoat, great grandchildren Zachary and Ian, brother Richard Bailey (Valeta) of Copperas Cove, TX, and sister Wynnell Jones (Keith) of Deerfield, KS. She also leaves behind 7 nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly, countless friends in countless places, former classmates, and church family. She was our Mom, Meema, Sister, and dear friend and we will miss her lively spirit tremendously Shirley Bailey Parker passed away on August 23, 2016 at the age of 77.
