  • On May 8, 2014, I lost my dad to Alzheimer's disease. He was truly a great man, devoted husband, and father to four children. When my dad died, we worried about the void that would be left in my mother's life because they had been married for 58 years. My parents made funeral arrangements many years ago, but the choice of a funeral home was made purely at random. We just put some names in a hat so to speak, and drew out Lake Ridge. We had no idea at the time that we were making a choice that would be such a blessing to us and a perfect fit. Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers went so far above and beyond our expectations that we could not even comprehend the lengths to which they went to take care of our family. From the second we entered the doors, we were treated with such respect, care, and love. We knew that we had come to the right place. They treated my dad and his memory with such tenderness and concern. To prepare for the visitation, they worked hard to understand who he was and wanted his body to represent the man we knew him to be. I never before realized how important that was until the moment I entered the room and saw the dad I always knew---the dad he was before he became so sick. It was my last time to see him, and I am so thankful that LRCMD made that memory such a beautiful and peaceful one for me. After my dad's service and burial, that is where I expected our journey with Lake Ridge to end. I was wrong. They told us about the after care they provide for widows. (The Lake Ridge Ladies). My mom immediately had a peace about the future upon learning about this great group of women. She knew that she was gong to be alright because she knew she had people to surround her with love. I am forever thankful that we have come to know this lovely place. We have truly been blessed by them and all that they do!

  • Dear Santos, My mom is back home now, and I wanted to say thank you for all your help in getting her home and for all of your kindness throughout this whole process. I also wanted to thank Laura. She did an amazing job with my mom. She looked so peaceful, with no signs of any illness. It had been quite a long time since we all saw her look so well. That was quite a precious last image of her, and for that, we are all grateful. Thanks again for everything.

  • I want to thank you folks for providing the on-line video of the funeral for Bruce Burney. We didn't find out until late of our friend's passing, and unfortunately, we couldn't make it. Being able to see the service online meant so much to us. I've never seen that done before, and I want you to know how much we appreciate your providing that service for us. It really meant a lot to us.

  • Mr. Moreno, I wanted to write and express my appreciation for your help with the services of my mother, Tyra Carter, this weekend. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever feel like I would write a funeral director thanking him for his services. However, you and your staff took care of everything flawlessly and assisted my father, brother, and myself throughout this very difficult time. My mom looked radiant. My favorite part was seeing the visitation photo DVD that you guys assembled with some of her favorite songs in the background. I commend you and your staff for the assistance you provided throughout this difficult time.

  • Dear Santos, Thank you so much for the donation that you made to the South Plains Food Bank in Skip's memory. The Food Bank and the food drive were absolutely the passion of his heart. We were so touched by your generosity. You not only served our family well at a time that was very difficult, but we feel that you became a new friend to all of us.

  • Santos and Staff, You continue to amaze me with your thoughtfulness and caring. The Service of Remembrance was especially touching. I pretty much held it together until David said he made sure "GeeGee" was on Bobbie Gaither's ornament. That extra touch is what puts you heads and shoulders above the rest. I am so very grateful to call you my friends. Blessings for a very special Merry Christmas!
