Who We Are
We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.
When we sit down with a family, we have just one goal: to create a fitting, memorable and affordable service for their loved one. Together, we explore the wide variety of services and products available, as well as a wealth of creative ideas and suggestions.
Together, we'll design a memorial or funeral service that suits their needs now, and in the future. Families who come to us know that years from now, they will have deep peace-of-mind because in coming to us, they've done their best to honor their loved one.

Our Story
“Our greatest hope is to create a sanctuary where grieving families can gather to find peace in a meaningful ceremony of remembrance,” explained Santos Moreno, general manager of Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. “Every inch of our new facility was built with the intention of providing a peaceful, respectful, and supportive haven for families during their time of need. By creating a new facility we were able to consider the entire process and how best we could provide a facility for families who are facing such a difficult time in their lives.”

Although the funeral home is new, Santos has been serving area families by helping celebrate the lives of lost loved ones for the past 16 years. His funeral service began in 1989 upon graduating from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Services. He began an apprenticeship at Guajardo Funeral Chapels and finished the experience at Rix Funeral Directors and Franklin Bartley Funeral Home. It was at Rix Funeral Directors where Santos had the privilege of learning the business from Whitney Rix Victory, owner and operator of the funeral home from May of 1990 through February of 2006. Bob Bartley was another funeral director that served as a mentor during Santos’ tenure with the company.
Santos served community families through Rix Funeral Directors and Franklin Bartley Funeral Home as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. In 1996, he was appointed assistant general manager. During his service at Rix, Santos received an Associates of Applied Science in Business Management Degree from Wayland Baptist College. Santos is currently licensed to practice the art of embalming and funeral directing. He is also a licensed agent in life, property, and casualty insurance in the state of Texas.

“We believe a large part of the meaning in a funeral service is to help survivors create a tribute to the life that was lived in a way that is unique to their needs and their loved one’s life,” said Santos. “By doing this the family can take the first step in the grief process and start their grief journey in a positive way. I’m not saying that dealing with the death of a loved one is ever easy, but we will do all we can to make it easier on the family by providing them with as many options as possible in order to help them create the true tribute that echoes the life their loved one lived.”
Santos takes this mission very seriously. This is reflected in the funeral home’s name, Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. “We chose to include Memorial Designers in the name of the funeral home because that is a very large part of our service here,” explained Santos. “Our Memorial Designers are trained in all aspects of funeral and memorial service. They are always available to help families understand the choices they have and to help facilitate and coordinate a service the family will find meaningful and healing.”

At Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, the compassionate staff respects each family’s preferences, beliefs, wishes, and resources. They will be available 24-hours-a-day to help you work through arrangements for the loss of a family member, assist with preplanning, or provide a beautiful setting to honor loved ones.
