Obituary:
Our beloved Phyllis passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father Wednesday, May 19th at the VistaCare Inpatient Hospice Center. Phyllis fought a courageous battle with numerous health issues since 1972. Phyllis was born on April 9, 1936 in Wappapello, Missouri to the late Raymond and Eva Conner. She moved with her family to Irving, Texas as a small child. Phyllis graduated from Irving High School in 1954 and continued to live in the Irving/Arlington area until 1985. She was employed with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She worked as a clerk and then as the secretary to the Division Directory Sales Manager, retiring in 1976. During this time she met Richard Lee Francis and they married in 1973 in Arlington. In 1985, they moved to Fresno, California and lived there until 2006 when they moved to Lubbock. Phyllis loved to work cross word puzzles, play Bridge, travel and enjoy her family and numerous friends. She will be fondly remembered for her beautiful smile and her loving and caring spirit. Phyllis possessed a positive and unselfish attitude toward all who knew her, even in the midst of her own struggles. She was a member of the Downtown Bible Class. Those left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 37 years, Richard Lee of Lubbock; son, Lee Francis and wife Cassie of San Angelo; daughters, Becky Niendorff and husband Paul of San Antonio and Nancy Hannon and husband Andrew of Cotton Center; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; a niece, Sherreill Giddens and a nephew, Michael Loftis both of Arlington.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be sent to VistaCare Hospice, 1717 Norfolk Ave. #A, Lubbock, Texas 79416. Please designate donation to the Wall of Remembrance Heart Fund in memory of Phyllis Francis.
