He was born Sept. 3, 1942 in Marlin. Tx. to the late Leola Castleberry and Homer Shelton. Jerry graduated from Lovington High School. He married Beverly Joan Parks on July 1, 1961 in Tatum, NM. Jerry worked for Southwestern Bell (at&t) in the business office until his retirement in 2000. Jerry was a devoted family man and his grandchildren were the passion of his life.
Those left to cherish Jerry’s memories are his wife Beverly, son, Gregory Shelton and wife Mary of Giddings; daughter , Kelley McCanlies and husband Johnny; grandchildren, Landon Bonds and wife Ashley, Jarred Nolen, Jaxon McCanlies all of Lubbock, and Pierce, Jacob and Kaitlyn Shelton of Giddings; brother, Robert and wife Jane of Lubbock; step mother, Sarah Shelton of Plains; and a cousin, Claudie Shelton of Lott.
