Mireya was born on December 20, 1996 to Raymond Salas and Margaret Gonzalez in Lubbock. She was an active teenager student at O. L. Slaton Junior High School who sang in the Choir, played softball with the Idalou “Lady Cats”. Mireye enjoyed music and dancing, while her favorite type of music was "Duranguense". When she wasn’t participating in school functions, she enjoyed spending time with her horse, “Black Beauty”.
She was preceded in death by her sister, April Nashae Salas, maternal grandfather, Ruben Madrid Gonzales, paternal step grandfather, and Victor Gonzalez.
Those left to cherish her memories are her loving mother and step-father, Manuel and Margaret Gonzalez of Lubbock, siblings, Serena Rene Salas, D'Angelo Ray Salas and Ryan Joseph Salas of Lubbock; her father, Raymond Salas; maternal grandmother, Mercedes Vera of Lubbock, paternal grandmother, Paula Espinoza; paternal step-grandmother, Maria Gonzalez of Lorenzo, three uncles, Antonio Alfaro Jr. and his wife, Dora of San Antonio, Ruben Dale Gonzales and his wife, Crossvette of Post, Augustine Anthony Gonzales and his wife, Anna Marie of Ralls; three aunts, Maria Elena Alfaro of Immokalee, FL, Melinda Olvera and her husband, Carmelo of Hatch, NM, and Valentina Gonzales and her husband, Joey Alvardo of Lubbock; twenty-eight cousins and numerous friends.
