Obituary:
F. Wayne Oliver, 70, of Shallowater went to be with our Lord May 7, 2010. He was born July 4th 1939 on his grandmother’s farm in Hockley County near Anton. He grew up on the family farm west of Shallowater. One of 5 children of S.W. and Virgie Oliver, he was the only boy, with 4 sisters. He graduated from Smyer High school. He went on to get Degrees from San Angelo Junior College in May of 1960 and a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy in June of 1963 at Texas Technological College (later Texas Tech University). He married the love of his life Claudine Alice Campbell of Anton on September 8th 1962. Wayne and his new bride moved back to the family farm in January of 1963. He was a successful farmer, cotton gin manager, cotton marketer, and golfer. He loved traveling and he and Claudine had many great adventures. He cherished his many friends and extended family. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Shallowater. He was a 32nd degree Master Mason, past Master of Anton Lodge #1272 AF & AM. He was a member of the Lubbock Scottish Rite Bodies, and a member of the Kiva Shrine Temple. He considered his finest accomplishment the raising of his two sons. Those left to cherish Wayne’s memory are his wife Claudine; son W. Todd Oliver and wife Lea of Woodway, Texas; daughter-in-law, Sherry Oliver of Shallowater; grandchildren Ashlea, Christopher and Cody of Woodway and Marcus and Alli of Shallowater. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Deloris Lyons of Lubbock, Mary Lou Richey of Humble and Geraldine Goen of Anton. He will be met in Heaven by his son Jeffrey and daughter Jill; his parents, mother and father-in-law and his sister Nell.

Memorials:
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Dr. Jeffrey W. Oliver scholarship fund at the Texas Tech School of Medicine, the Southwest Cancer Treatment and Research Center, or the South Plains College scholarship fund in lieu of flowers.
