Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers will host a gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Randall Handley of Lubbock from 3:30-5:00 p.m. today at the funeral home. Celebration services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010 at Lake Ridge Chapel with committal services following at Resthaven Memorial Park. Our beloved Randall went to his eternal home on Friday, April 16, 2010.
Randall was born July 12, 1931 in Floydada to the late S.J. and Lillie (Red) Handley and graduated from Floydada High School. After graduation Randall entered the U. S. Marine Corps. After discharge from the military he attended Texas Tech University. Randall met the love of his life, Carolyn Wallace and they married on June 5, 1954 in Sweetwater. He worked as an engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad at night for seven years while also working in the trucking business during the day. He owned and operated Texas Agri Carriers, Inc. until his retirement. He was a member of New Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Floydada and also attended Vandelia Church of Christ in Lubbock. Randall was a lifetime member of Ambucs. In his spare time Randall enjoyed riding motorcycles, CB radios and building windmills.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn; sons, Ray Alan Handley, Timothy Randall Handley and wife Tina; a daughter, Joni Kay Sarin; grandchildren, Tia Handley, Raymond Randall Handley, II and Craig Grasso all of Lubbock; brothers, Carell Handley and wife Ann of Amarillo, Ben Handley and wife Terry of Lubbock and sister, Eileen Nixon and husband, Fred of Lubbock.
Along with his parents, Randall is preceded in death by a brother, Leon Handley, a sister, Laverne Lunn, a granddaughter, Tyffani Handley, his son-in-law, Jack Sarin, and Honey, his precious Chihuahua.
