Obituary:
Dan was born on Nov. 4, 1932 in Shallowater to the late Jno. A. and Hallie (Joplin) Roberts. He graduated from Meadow High School. Following high school, he entered the Army and served with the 1st Armored Division Combat Command B and the 1st Tank Battalion Bravo Company out of Ft. Hood. Dan married Joan Knight on Jan. 16, 1956 in Brownfield. He owned at operated Dan’s Grocery and Market for 40 years. Dan and Joan later operated an antique store, Unique Victorian, in the same building. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Brownfield Chamber of Commerce from 1980-1982; charter member of the Meadow Lions Club; the Meadow City Council for 26 years and a Mason. Dan loved the game of football, also he enjoyed fishing and hunting, but his passion in life was his family. Those left to cherish Dan’s memories is his wife, Joan; two daughters, Jana Lynn McCallister of El Paso and Leigh Ann Moore and husband Jeffrey of Plano; four grandchildren, Braedan Todd McCallister of El Paso, Tamra Lea Hyer and husband Michael of Ft. Carson, CO, and Zachary Ryan Moore and Chance Tyler Moore both of Plano; two great grandchildren, Jordyn Lynn and Bryce Dylan Hyer; a sister, Frances Brown and husband E. Jack of Lubbock and a brother, Jerry Roberts and wife Willie of Hereford.

Memorials:
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Interim Hospice, American Arthritis Foundation or the American Lung Association.
