Jerry Lee was born on March 9, 1935 to Jack and Ruby Stephenson Gailey in Ropesville. He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1953 and attended Texas Tech University. Jerry served in the United States Army in Korea. On June 11, 1958 he married Glenda Threlkeld in Lubbock, Texas. He established Jerry Gailey Construction Company, Inc and operated the company for 30 years. Jerry and his brother Larry established Gailey Fire Protection. He was a member of Lakeridge Country Club where he enjoyed golfing and spending time with friends. Jerry faithfully served his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church where he served on various committees and attended the Seekers Sunday School Class.
He was preceded in death by parents, Jack and Ruby Gailey and his brother, Jack Gailey Jr.
Jerry is survived by his loving spouse of 51 years, Glenda; daughters, Donna Tuttle, and Toni Meador and husband, Larry all of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Morgan Baker and husband, Eric and Austin Meador all of Lubbock; and his brother, Wendell Gailey and wife, Patty and Larry Gailey and wife, Janis of Lubbock, TX, and many wonderful friends.
