Dorothy was born November 27, 1922 in Oak Park, IL, the oldest child of the late J. Woodson and Dorothy (Schwagerman) Daniel. She graduated from Steinmetz High School in Chicago and attended Moody Bible Institute and Northwestern University. Dorothy married Lloyd Davis on June 18, 1949.
Dorothy loved music and she was the organist at her home church, Wellington Park Methodist Church in Chicago, and later at First Presbyterian Church, Plainview, TX. She was a long-term member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Dorothy sang in her church choirs and played the piano. She was an avid reader and loved gardening and genealogy. She belonged to the Heritage Study Club, Trowel and Error Garden Club, P.E.O. Chapter FJ, Allegro Music Club and played bridge.
Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Lloyd; daughter, Pat Kidwell of Arlington, TX; son, Gary Davis and his wife, Melanie, of Lubbock; grandsons Clark Davis of Charlotte, NC and Greg Davis and fiancée, Sami Green, of Midland, TX; brother Jack Daniel and his wife, Carol, of Wheaton, IL.
