Leroy Snider of Lubbock departed this life on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the age of 84. He was born March 17, 1925 to E.M. and Bertha (Winningham) Snider in Hamilton, Texas. He moved with his parents to the Ropesville area as an infant. He was a member of the Ropesville Baptist church. He graduated from the Ropesville High School and began his career as a second generation farmer. Leroy served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Louise Vestal on June 30, 1943. They had one son, Dennis. Louise preceeded Leroy in death in 1989. He married Paula Tindel on August 17, 1991 and moved to Lubbock.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Paula; a son Dennis and wife Inez; two granddaughters, two grandsons; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandson; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Leroy was also preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Curtis and James Snider.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday December 22, 2009 at the Ropesville Baptist Church with burial following in the City of Lubbock Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. this evening at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers.
