| Obituary: |
Cheryl was born on Nov. 22, 1946 to Beryl and Olive Teague in Ft. Worth. Her childhood was spent in Balmorhea. She attended high school in Ropes, Ralls and Mart. Cheryl married Arlin Ryals on May 2, 1964 in Waco and they lived in the Ropesville and Wolfforth area for 45 years. Cheryl spent many years as the wife of a farmer and a homemaker; however as her last child entered high school she decided to go back to school. And at the age of 36 she graduated from the South Plains College School of Nursing. Her25 year nursing career allowed her to work with people which she dearly loved. Fourteen months following her retirement in Feb. 2007 she began her battle with brain cancer. Many of the nurses and doctors that worked alongside of Cheryl were the same people that were her caregivers in her last days. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their passion and care. Having her family around her, spending time at home and in her yard were the things that were closest to her heart. Cheryl was member of the First Baptist Church, Ropesville where she taught in Vacation Bible School. She also volunteered in her children’s school and 4-H club as they grew up.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 45 years, Arlin; son, Randall and wife Ronda of Ropesville; daughter, Jami Jeffcoat and husband Geron of Wolfforth; grandchildren, Randi Martin and husband Tim of Lubbock and Rachelle Ryals of Ropesville; two sisters, Johnna Culver and husband Robert “Bob” of Centerville, KS and Betty Bates and husband Ron of Kaufman; sister in law, Ann Hickson and husband Ronnie of Lubbock and many nieces and nephews.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, Beryl Anthony Teague and a sister, Joanna Fears.
