Lillie Faye Connel was born in Clyde, Texas on May 18, 1921 to Oscar and Linnie Connel. She attended school in Clyde, Texas.
She married William L. (Bill) Mann on May 16, 1943 in Tahoka, Texas. Mrs. Mann and her husband lived in Abilene, O’Brien, Crosbyton and Earth, Texas until retiring to Lubbock in 1982. Mr. and Mrs. Mann lived in Earth for 25 years where he was the Superintendent of Springlake-Earth Schools and she was a teacher’s aide. Although Mrs. Mann loved teaching children and was very proud of her service as a teacher, most of her time was devoted to her family.
Mrs. Mann was a member of the Broadway Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister and five brothers.
Survivors include one daughter, Patti Wiebe and husband Ben of Beamsville, Ontario, Canada; sons Steve and wife Carolyn, Tom and wife Stacy and Jimmy all of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Ben Connel of Phoenix, Arizona and Bob Connel of Abilene.
The family is grateful to her caregiver and friend, Lupe Hughes, and to the nurses who cared for their Mother.
