Mr. Sessums was a native Lubbockite, born to W.T. and Grace Yates Sessums on February 4, 1930. He attended Hunt Elementary and Lubbock Junior High before leaving school to join the U. S. Marine Corps in 1946. On July 17, 1948, Jack married Doris Harwell. Jack was preceded in death by his wife Doris, his parents, brothers, Bill, Horton (Bo), and Ray, sisters Ruth Rowe, Monette Stegall, Jean Love, and Norma Craddick. Jack is a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Jack retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1989, after 34 years of service.
Jack is survived by his children, Richard Sessums and wife Vicki ,Sharron Holt and husband Sammy, Steve Sessums and wife Robbie, Lisa Deering and husband Carey, and Martin Sessums and wife Cindy; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grand children, mother in law Lois Burk, sisters Mildred Benton and Fay Ralston, and special friend Gae Ludecke.
