She was born on Sept. 8, 1911 in Russellville, Ark. to Mal and Cora Dixon. She lived in Arkansas until 1937 when she married Marvin Martin and moved to Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, her parents, Mal and Cora Dixon, one daughter, Leona Calhoun, one granddaughter, Gwen Stringer, four brother, and four sisters.
Rhea is survived by a sister, Ellen Clark of Colorado; two daughters, Myrtle Stringer and Jerry Stringer both of Lubbock, seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren and many friends and neighbors
She was known to everyone as Granny. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
