She was born on March 8, 1934 in Stephenville, Tx. to the late J.R. and Francis (Watson) Holloway. Bernice met Kenneth R. Harris while he was serving in the military and they married on Dec. 22, 1951 in Lovington, NM. Residing at Ft. Hood until his discharge, the couple then moved to Lubbock and Bernice worked for several landscaping/nursery businesses. Ken and Bernice moved for two years to open the Wolfe Nursery in Odessa. Back in Lubbock again in 1961, she worked for Holden Datson Nursery, Joe Hurd Independent Nurses Registry as a private sitter, Lubbock State School as a licensed CNA and before retiring, Phoenix Home Care. Bernice loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening and baking.
Surviving Bernice is a son, Kenneth Don Harris; a daughter, Debra Rhea Wilborn and husband Michael all of Lubbock; four grandchildren, Joe Wells of Wolfforth, Spring Robinson and husband Donnie of Bryan, Jennifer Fowler of Wolfforth and Nathan Harris and wife Nicola of College Station; six great grandchildren, Ethan Ray and Emily Mae Robinson, Kaitlyn Ashley and Haley Ann Harris, Dustin Joseph Wells and Steven Blaine Fowler; two brothers and four sisters.
She is preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 17, 1998 and a niece, Darla Ketchum.
