Shirley Beth was born on May 17, 1937 to Virgil William Gatlin and Vera Audrey Gatlin in Lubbock, Texas. Shirley’s life will be celebrated and remembered as one filled with laughter and love. Happiness was a big thing throughout our mother’s life. Our Mom wanted a home filled with laughter and love, so she filled it with kids and pets. Our house was always buzzing with activity, and even in the midst of the chaos, Mom would just smile. No matter what was going on, no matter how busy things were, Mom was always was able to give big hugs- they were the kinds of hugs that would make you feel like you were the only kid in the world. She cherished the time that she spent with her four grandchildren and her great-grandson. We will remember our Mother’s prayers and they have always followed us; they will cling to us all of our lives. Shirley’s love extended beyond the walls of our home.
