J D was born on December 8, 1936 to JD, Sr. and Norene Taylor in Tipton, Oklahoma. On July 29, 1977, JD married the love of his life, Pamela Mote in Lubbock, Texas. He served in the US Army Reserves and later the National Guard. JD was a tire salesman for 53 years, he worked at Woody Tire Company for 35 years and McWhorters for 4 years. JD was the past president of the Texas Tire Dealer Association and also was a member of the Lubbock Lions Club for 23 years.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Herring; children, Tim Herring and wife, Elizabeth; and Kisty Villarreal and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Timi Herring, Tawnee Little, and Sam Butler; great-grandchild, Hutson Brian Little; siblings, Sara Olds; Alice Connell and husband, Johnny; Ted Herring; and Johnny Olds and wife, Debbie; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, JD Herring, Sr.; and mother, Nattie Norene Taylor.
