She graduated from Ball High School and attended the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She had 2 brothers, (Axel Anderson and Bernard Anderson), and 2 sisters, (Astrid Thompson and Ann Thompson), who preceded her in death. She was married to Dr. Charles H. Nash, Jr. on January 9, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She moved to Lubbock, Texas, from Washington, D.C. in 1952. She was a member of Shepherd King Lutheran Church and worked at Methodist (Covenant) Hospital from 1969 until her retirement in 1985. Dede’s life centered on her three children: two sons, Dr. Charles H. Nash, III (Mary) of Gainesville, Georgia; Dr. William A. Nash of Lubbock; and a daughter, Mrs. Mary Ann Lindsey (Dr. Phillip Lindsey) of Lubbock. Edith was blessed with seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching all sports, and having special celebrations of God’s grace at Christmas and Easter. The family would like to thank Tracy Cleckler and the entire staff at Tanglewood for the love and care they gave Dede during the past 6-1/2 years. They loved our Dede and were family to us, and we appreciate everything they did for our entire family. They have been a blessing.
