Dee was born on July 12, 1942, to the late Jack and Elizabeth (Miller) Cartwright in Dimmitt and graduated from Dimmitt High School. She moved to Idalou in the late 60’s and she was instrumental founding the Idalou Country Press and also served as Judge for the City of Idalou. She moved to Lubbock in the 80’s and worked for American Airlines as Lead Agent and then as a travel agent for National Travel. She was a member of Trinity Church for many years. Dee had numerous talents and hobbies which included being a professional photographer, a private pilot, an exceptional artist, decorator, designer and most importantly grandmother. Dee also enjoyed being outside and spending time planting and caring for her beautiful yard and garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edwin Cartwright.
Dee is survived by her four children, Kurtis Keith (Tracie) Lowe of Dallas, Bridget De’Ann Lucchesi of Rochester, NY, Britney D’Na (David) Flurry of Ft. Worth, and Brandy D’Aun Skarke of Decatur; eleven grandchildren, Garrett Gower, Joshua Gower, Tanner Gower, Kaitlyn Eschler, Keaton Vineyard, Jaidyn Vineyard, Jordan Lowe, Kylie Lowe, Caleb Skarke, Alyson Skarke, and Jack Lucchesi, and a great-grandson, Braxton Lowe; a brother, Jerry Keith Cartwright; and a sister, Jacqueline Phillips.
