Betty Joy Surles Bradley, 91, slipped away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. She was born October 24, 1924, in Dallas, Texas to Roscoe and Mollie McAdoo Surles. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School and attended Midwestern University. In 1945, she married James E. Bradley in Garland, TX. Betty was a member of Calvary Baptist of Lubbock.She was a devoted wife and mother. Betty was an accomplished pianist and she loved to play her accordion.She and James raised four daughters who survive her, Sylvia Healey, and husband, Bill of Lake City, CO, Linda Middleton, and husband, Roy of Lubbock, Patty Cruickshank, and husband, Roger of Palm Desert, CA, and Karen Martin, and husband, Larry of Kingwood, TX.Betty is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Terry Wootonn of Denver CO, Jim Winblood and wife, Kim of Dallas, TX, Chris Coke and wife, Melissa of Lubbock, Kyle Coke and wife, Jennifer of Edmond, OK, Brad Able and wife Inga of Houston, TX, Lisa Polumbus and husband, Kevin of Lubbock, Trish Caldwell and husband, Kellan of Houston, TX, Chelsea Schauer and husband, Josh of Austin, TX, and Casey Boyd of Oroville, CA; 14 great-grandchildren, Tawny Zachary and husband, Jared, Tyler Callahan and wife Lyndsey, Raven Wootonn, Blakeley and Madison Winblood, Brett Coke, Austin Coke, Meagan Coke, Parker, Pierce, and Presley Polumbus, Bella Able, Finnegan and Linden Schauer; one great-great-granddaughter, Karsyn Callahan and a sister-in-law, Pauline Morrow of Denison, Tx.Betty is preceded in death by her husband, James who died in 2002, after 57 years of marriage; her parents; and 3 sisters..Visitation will be held Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Lakeridge Memorial Designers from 5 to 6:30. Celebration of life services will be Monday, October 24, at 2 p.m. with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.The family would like to thank the Palliative Care group at Covenant, Hospice of Lubbock and all the staff at Carillon House.Please make donations to Hospice of Lubbock in lieu of flowers.
