Allena was born on November 28, 1934 to Leon and Dollie (Edgeworth) Smith in Santa Anna, TX. As a teenager, Allena moved to Lubbock and attended Lubbock High School. On February 14, 1953, she married Ronald Mason in New Mexico. Allena was a caregiver to the elderly before receiving her LVN license. She worked as an LVN at Methodist Hospital for fourteen years. Following her retirement from Methodist Hospital, she continued her caregiving by caring for others at their bedside. She enjoyed sewing and making her daughters’ clothing as they grew up. She also loved the time she spent working in her yard and gardening. Allena also enjoyed watching golf on TV and was a Dallas Cowboy fan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald Gene Mason on March 10, 2003; a sister, Lou Clark, and two brothers, Richard and Orville Smith. Allena is survived by three daughters, Zenda Fisher and husband, Tony of Krum, Gayla Edwards, and Dollie Tyson and husband, Mike all of Lubbock; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; two sisters, Wanda Holden of Lake Whitney, and Barbara York of Gail, and a brother, Jimmy Smith, of Lubbock.
