Supportive Gatherings
“When you lose a spouse – whether you’ve shared 1 year or 50 years – it shakes your world down to the very foundation,” notes Santos Moreno, owner and general manager of Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. “I feel very strongly about our commitment to these people; not only should we care for them at the time of loss, but long afterwards.”
Every month, Santos escorts the widows and widowers of our community to dinner at a local restaurant. “We share warm conversation, and good food; two things that those who are grieving the loss of a spouse simply don’t have enough of. I’m honored to take this time with them, to share a smile, and a hug; to let them know they are not alone.”
